The Scotia-Glenville Girls Softball League (SGGSL) provides a fun and rewarding softball experience to both recreational and travel softball players in the Scotia-Glenville area. SGGSL is dedicated to teaching girls about the sport of softball and how to work together as a team in a supportive and encouraging environment. SGGSL plays by Amateur Softball Association (ASA) rules with some modifications at each age level. We have two levels of play that our league offers:
The Scotia-Glenville Softball League's Rec Program runs from late April through the middle of June. Teams are organized according to age and typically play about two games per week. The registration fee covers the cost of a jersey. Girls are responsible for supplying their own glove, helmet with face cage and chin strap, and preferably a bat. Teams are grouped according to age into 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u teams. Girls are given every opportunity to learn and grow. Sportsmanship, teamwork, enthusiasm, and fun are emphasized to make softball a positive experience for everyone.
Scotia Travel Softball (STS) is a more competitive league than our recreational league and runs from the begining of June to the end of July. Tryouts are held in late summer each year in an effort to form competitive softball teams at the 10U, 12U and 14u age levels.
